 What is Taco Farm?

Mexican Inspired and Locally Sourced….

An interpretation of Canada’s Mexico, a combination of one of the world’s great cuisines & our connection to the land around us. We cook without borders or rules. We are not Mexican, El Salvadorian or even Latin American; we are farmers…… TACO FARMERS!

As TACO FARMERS we support small, local farms. We stock our shelves the same way we do at home, with foods we feel safe & proud to serve to our own families. If you’re curious about where your food comes from, and you should be, please ask us.  We make everything in house, or rather, on the FARM!  If you ate it here we made it – from our famous tortillas to our infamous hot sauces, bar mixes & infusions. We truly live the HOUSE MADE philosophy!

A quick word on GLUTEN… our food does not contain it! From the fried chicken to the battered fish, our tortillas & our sauces! The only item on our menu that isn’t gluten free is the churro, BUT beyond that you’re GLUTEN FREE GOLDEN! Taco Farm is a collaboration between Ryan Good of Chainsaw and Nick and Nat Benninger of Uptown 21.

Reservation Policy:  Due to the size of our limited dining room, walk ins are always welcome and preferred. Reservations are only accepted for groups of 6 and up, anytime during our business hours except Fridays and Saturdays nights.  Every seat counts and will help us stay in business and send our kids to college!  A credit card number is required to secure the reservation and cancellation or change in guest count is required at least 24 hours prior.  Reservations that are “no” show means we have empty seats while we turn taco lovers away and kiss our kids college fund goodbye. :(

Tequila Bible Menu - Tequila School

Thank you to everyone in the Kitchener Waterloo community for your heartfelt support with of Taco Farm in Uptown Waterloo! We are incredibly grateful for the kind words, enthusiasm and encouragement we have been shown as we endeavour to bring a refreshing and unique dining option to the community. We make our own tortillas from 100% white corn flour, they're gluten free and always available for purchase to take home to enjoy with friends and family.


Slow cooked cross cut beef rib, pineapple, oranges and hot pickled peanuts


Labrador shrimp, creamy chipotle sauce and avocado


Spiced pork shoulder, pico de gallo and guacamole

Chicken Pibil

Achiote-citrus banana leaf stewed chicken, pickled onion and guacamole

Fried Chicken

Whole birds chopped and brined for 24 hours. Fried in 100% corn flour and finished with Tequila, honey, lime and black pepper. (Available plain for kids!)

Bay Scallop Ceviche

Bay scallops lightly cured in citrus with grapes, onions, chillies and cilantro. Served with chips

Queso Fundido

Bubbling fresh cheese in a skillet, optional chorizo sausage and warm tortilla

All of the tequilas we serve are made from 100% Agave. We make our own sweet and sour mix a.k.a. "Farm Citrus"; a blend of fresh lime, orange and agave nectar.

Tromba Tequila Feature Margarita (on tap!)

Premium small batch tequila wth our feature seasonal fruit and fresh herbs or spices. Ask for this week's selection.


Farm citrus, cointreau, tequila blanco and a sea salt rim.

Flor de Jamaica

Hibiscus flower infused tequila blanco, hibiscus tea, farm citrus and a hibiscus rim.

Pineapple and Guajilo Chile

Grilled pineapple purée, lime juice, tequila reposado, guajilo chile drizzle and a guajilo chile rim.


Bloody Farm

Tequila blanco, muddled cucumber, sangrita (chipotle citrus tomato juice) and a chipotle cilantro rim.


Eldorado Demerara Rum, fresh mint, lime juice, mint infused simple syrup and soda.

Passion Fruit Sour

Tequila Reposado, farm citrus, passion fruit, egg white and orange bitters
